I get to the Andy and he smiles as I hand over the picture to be signed and tell him what name I want it signed to. I then tell him how much I admired what he did at the Oscars he smiles and say's thank you. I then give him a small white ribbon it's a peace ribbon that I made and another for his wife. Andy was such a nice guy he must have had a million request to do his Gollum voice and not one did he turn down in fact it seemed they got longer talking. He was also very very funny in the question and answer sessions, as were all the LOTR guests.

Talk on Saturday night

The questions start straight away it's takes everyone a while to get going but then there is no shortest of questions. We even end up singing the drinking song from the green dragon, which is a lot of fun. I even got my question answered mine was the one about the audio recording. I also was very cheeky and carried on asking questions after that the next 2 are mine as well. I can't really say more about the q and a as you can read it for your self. A lot of questions were directed at Billy as I think that night there were a lot of Billy fan's there. Andy also asked us a question how many times we had seen Fellowship of the Ring hands stayed up after 100 for anyone who wants to know I think Pauline has seen it the most over 200 times yes that's the Pippin alike for you.

Talk on Sunday night

The cast came in the q and a the questions were not as thick and fast as the night before but still very good. With offers of chocolate been taken up from Ikki in the front the guys seemed happy. The highlight of the q and a was Andy whole scene reactment of Gollum's arguing speech after he had finished we all stood up and clapped it was great to see it and the way he did it you just know that Andy is the true Gollum the face movements everything was perfect. It was a much longer q and a as than the night they all thanked us and went with lots of waves from all.

New York Toy's R US December 2003

I met Andy when he was in New York City promoting ROTK. he was signing autographs at Toys R' Us. but in order to meet Andy, you had to purchase one of the LOTR-inspired board games (like Monopoly). then you received a ticket that you would present on the day of the signing and you'd receive access to the 3rd floor where Andy was waiting to greet the fans. only 750 tickets were available, so i was very lucky to get one! i was a little late in getting to the signing, but i managed to be among the first group of people to be brought upstairs. Andy looked fabulous and he seemed extremely happy to be there, taking ample amounts
of time to speak to everyone who came. i was a bit nervous, but i heard that he was really nice, so i wasn't so worried. Andy and i had a lovely conversation about music (70's punk to be exact) and a film he made a few years ago- '24 Hour Party People.' and i took pics. one is a shot of Andy and my arm. he's looking at a ring i own that's shaped like Gollum. the other one is Andy and me. i was surprised, because i thought he was taller in person. he's only about 5'10". but he was really nice and talkative to everyone who came. he even complimented me on my shirt, which had a logo for the band Joy Division on it. Andy told me they were one of his favorite bands when he was younger, and he's still really into them. he gave me a huge hug, too. it was sweet. :)

Screening LOTR

January. a weekend screening of LOTR was held at New York's Lincoln Center, along with a question and answer session featuring Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Bernard Hill, and Andy
Serkis. i was in the 2nd row, so it was very exciting! i got to meet Elijah
afterwards, so i was very happy about that too! :) as for the pics, one is Andy introducing 'The Two Towers.' another is a funny photo from one of the local newspapers of Andy and Bernard Hill. and another is an amusing photo of Andy sitting next to Elijah, and apparently Andy looks as though he's falling asleep. haha.

Andy was signing copies of his book in New York and i was there. it was absolutely packed! but i got there a few hours early so i managed to avoid the bulk of the huge lines. Andy read
passages from the book, including a special reading of the famous Gollum/Smeagol
schizophrenia scene from TTT, in the voices!. he answered some questions from the audience as well. one question was about the rumor as to whether he'd do the motion capture for King Kong in Peter Jackson's upcoming version of it. Andy simply responded with a polite "Shhhh..." and smiled, which was followed by a round of cheers. so i guess that's a strong possibility he may be playing the famous ape. after the questions, everyone lined up to get their books signed. when i stepped up to the table, he remembered me! it was so cute! i had no idea he'd actually remember me! being a writer myself, i gave him my business card
and asked if there was ever a possibilty to do an interview with him someday. he said he'd get back to me when he had free time. he said he was very glad to see me again and thanked me once again for being so supportive of his work. awww. well, i still haven't heard anything from Andy so i guess he might have lost my card. but it was worth a try.

Report on Torn from Cheshire Cat Here

Friday

I went to see Thomas after he had his lunch. I will have to tell you I was an little worried what he would think of some mad girl who runs an web site about him. Ok I'm not mad but some people think I am. I had thought of the idea to make an t-shirt with the website design I of course I left it till the last might. I burnt the first one so ended up having to put it on an really strange white top I just don't do white. So I walk up to see Thomas he see's my top and goes ah the site and then think for an mintue and says so you must be Catherine it was true relief that he in fact remembered my name. I had an little conversation with him where he told me an bit of information about what he had been up to. I'll up date his pages later about that.

I went to see Thomas in the afternoon and I dressed in my Deagol outfit. I was very happy to see that his face light up he came and posed for pictures and I promised to email him an picture.I also had him sign my Forgotten Silver DVD cover which it seemed by the way he looked at it he had yet to see that version of it. We had already had Sarah Mcleod sign it who was also inthe film and plays Rosie Cotton in Lord of the Rings. When I chatted with Thomas he told me that he had told Andy about my website and that he thought that he had been to see it. I hope he has and enjoyedit as much as I do making it.
