The new bio
I have gained this information from Thomas himself and queto's that I am using from him are in bold.
Thomas was
born in Cornwall England on the 3rd July 1971 he now lives in New
Zealand with my family when I was one. Now live in Wellington. Moved here
for better work opportunities. He lives there with his gorgeous wife
Susan and two perfect little hobbits - Stella (2 1/2 years) and Ralph (5
months).
When asked what his family think of his acting he says Stella loves
me in a Panasonic commercial which is on TV here - she sings along to it.
She couldn't handle me in Return Of The King though - a little too scary.
Ralph has no idea yet but I'm sure he'd be proud.
Thomas did having an go at architecture but he always loved to perform
ever since I was a kid. I used to be into magic when I was 12. He is self
taught but I did do lots of theatre in Dunedin.
His first job was in Heavenly Creatures. It was a one day shoot with
Kate Winslet. It was also my first audition for a film. Funnily enough my
first role ever was in a play called Daughters Of Heaven which is the same
story as Heavenly Creatures!
His favourite role is Deagol of course! or Any role which is as
far away from being Thomas Robins as possible. That's always a challenge.
I'd love to do an action movie too! Guns and car chases! Never really had
a least favourite role. My job as an orderly at a hospital was interesting
as it sometimes required me to removed dead bodies from the wards!
On Theatre he say's I used to feel like throwing up when I did theatre.
I dealt with it by not doing any more theatre!
Thomas has never had to interview anyone he only had to deal with an
annoying penguin called Spike. I hear he is still causing trouble on saturday
mornings!
I asked about his work on Heavenly Creatures this is what he said he first
met Peter Jackson on Heavenly Creatures it was his first audtion for film
and first role. It's sad to say that Thomas was in fact cut out of the film
he says about that I felt a little...no VERY disappointed. Apparently
the film was too long. Now no one believes I did a scene with Kate!
I asked his what drew him to do Forgotten Silver. A fake documentary
directed by Peter Jackson - who wouldn't be drawn to it!?
Thomas originally auditioned for Sam Gamgee a few years ago. Then they
asked to to audition for Deagol so I just gave it my best shot.
Thomas has now been to an convention he said I loved it! I'd never been
to one and it was brilliant. It seems like everyone here in New Zealand
has been in LOTR so it is no big deal here that I am in the film. I was
so surpirse how many people wanted to meet me in London. I was amazing to
meet the fans because without them these films wouldn't be so big. The London
Film and Comic Con people were lovely.
Thomas is predominatly a director. I am most happy in my work when I
am acting or directing film and TV. Hi cureent project is a new teenage
horror show which I am creating and writing. Hopefully that will go a head
and I will direct and no doubt cast myself in a role or two! I am also directing
a new comedy show here in New Zealand. I also had a cameo role in a brilliant
new show here called The Insiders Gudie To Happiness. The website is
here
I also asked him an few more questions which are below.
